How to kill a Lynel [botw]

first, find a Lynel,
some locations:
  • Ploymus Mountain (east of Zora's domain)
  • in between Illumeni Plateau, Washa's bluff and Shae Loya Shrine
  • South-east of skull lake
  • in Deplian Badlands
  • south west of Drenan Highlands
second, get prepared,
items needed:
  • One handed weapon
  • Two handed weapon (spears not included)
  • Bow and five or more arrows (any type of arrow but not ancient)
  • Shield (recommended more than one!)
  • Time and a bit of skill (it will take a lot of tries)
  • (optional) Stasis+
Third, the stages
use these to know whats coming next and what to do
  • Stage one, bow + arrow (this can be avoided)
  • Stage two, charge / leap  with weapon
  • Stage three, charge without weapon
  • Stage four breath fire
  • Stage five, close raged combat
this can be mixed around a bit like:
  • Stage one
  • Stage two
  • Stage four
  • Stage three
usually it will stay the order it is in

Fourth, when and what to do
  • Stage one,
get close enough so he doesn't get out his bow,
bows do extreme damage
  • Stage two
parry for a charge, but if he leaps keep your shield out and doge
  • Stage three
jump to the side of him while he is charging and flurry rush
  • Stage four
just run away from the fire (no dash / sprinting needed) sometimes you can even catch a up draft to drop down with weapon to do extra damage
  • Stage five
dodge or parry, sometimes even attack if weapon stuck in ground
Fifth, rinse and repeat (repeat step Four)

Tips:
  • keep your one handed weapon on at all times
  • use strongest weapon for flurry rush
  • wile flurry rush repeatedly press [Y] and [ZL] together to increase attacks strength
  • shoot the Lynel if its weapon is stuck in ground
  • use Stasis+ to get more time (running away, arching, attacking, etc)
  •  use this combo after flurry rush: Stasis+ (one handed weapon) [Y],[Y]
  • keep shield out at all times (unless attacking)
Have fun killing Lynels! (hopefully)😏😎😊
